An idle village builder for Android
Idle Ages
In development Expected release:
Take one village from a campfire to the stars, and then off to found colonies. It keeps working while you do not, which makes it the most productive thing on your phone.
Ten ages, one stubborn village
A few million years in one swipe
Drag the slider, tap the arrows or swipe the picture. All of human progress, and no history exam at the end.
Stone Age
A campfire, a few huts and villagers who consider a sharp stick cutting-edge technology. Everyone starts here.
Bronze Age
Metal arrives, and suddenly everybody has strong opinions about tools.
Classical Age
Columns. So many columns. Nobody remembers who ordered this many columns.
Medieval Age
Walls, towers and lanterns along the lanes. The chronicle politely leaves out the smell.
Renaissance
Domes, bell towers and a sudden passion for art. The florins flow, and so does the self-confidence.
Industrial Age
Chimneys, factories and the first machines. Someone has started using the word "efficiency" at dinner.
Modern Age
Tall towers and busy streets. The village now has a skyline and, frankly, it shows off.
Digital Age
A screen in every window. The villagers have discovered being online. We are sorry.
Cyber Age
Neon spires light up the dusk. The village has never looked this cool, and it knows it.
Stellar Age
Stardust, rockets and orders for quantum vials. When the sky stops being the limit, there are colonies.
What is inside
A village with opinions
-
Ten ages, then the stars
From sticks and stones to stardust. And when the stars are done, your village founds colonies. Ambition is contagious.
-
Villagers with character
Every villager rolls random traits that make them brilliant at some jobs and hopeless at others, plus tiers to grow into. Some are Legendary. Some are trying their best.
-
Nine trades
Woodcutters, miners, smiths, farmers, herbalists, fishers, cooks, alchemists and fighters. Put the right villager in the right job and watch the numbers climb. Deeply satisfying, scientifically unproven.
-
A chronicle with a sense of humour
While you play, the village chronicle writes down your story, with drier jokes than most history books.
-
Lives on your phone
Your progress stays on your device. No account, no server, no "please sign in to continue your village".

Our fair play promise
Fair by design, not by press release
Put it down for a week, pick it up again. No offer expired while you were away, because there were never any offers to expire.
- No adsNo banners, no videos, no "watch this to double your wood". None.
- No energy timersPlay for five minutes or five hours. Nobody is rationing your fun.
- No gachaNo loot boxes, no spinning wheels, no "rare drop" odds in tiny print.
- Nothing to buyIdle Ages is free, and every extra in the game is earned with Amber, just by playing.
Free, and it stays that way
There is no shop for real money in Idle Ages. The winter and Christmas scenery, the Royal Night palette, an extra villager slot and the long offline shift are all earned with Amber, which comes from daily requests, codex pages, milestones and every new age.
Enjoying it? You can leave a small gift on Ko-fi (how it works). It is a thank you, not a purchase: it unlocks nothing in the game.
Cannot wait for 2027?
Download the APK
Idle Ages is not on Google Play yet. Until it is, you can install it straight from this website, like it is 2012 again.
The download link will appear here soon.
How to install
- Tap the download button on your Android device.
- Open the downloaded file. Android asks whether your browser may install apps. Say yes, just this once.
- Tap Install, then open Idle Ages.
- Feeling tidy? Switch that permission off again afterwards in your Android settings.
Good to know
- Only download Idle Ages from this page. Copies on other websites may have picked up some unwanted extras along the way.
- Updates do not install themselves. For a new version, come back here and install it over the existing game. Do not uninstall first: that deletes your progress, and we cannot get it back.
- Trust issues? Healthy. Compare the SHA-256 checksum of your download with the one above.
Help and privacy
Privacy policy
Idle Ages collects no personal data and shares nothing. The policy is short, because there is not much to confess.
Support
Lost village, confusing villager or a bug that thinks it is a feature? We can help with most of those.
